O. Before You Start . . . Helpful Resources

Helpful resources to assist you in geting a job with any major are close at hand and include University Career Fairs, College Placement and Career Centres, Career Directories and Counseling, and Job Websites.

i) In Person:

University Career Fairs

With so many organizations represented in one place, a few days of browsing the booths can yield much more information than weeks of surfing the web… Read the article “Career Fairs: Make Them Worth It!” in jobpostings.ca

University’s Placement & Career Centre

University Career and Placement Centres help graduates and students who wish to obtain permanent, summer or part-time employment, and assist employers who want to recruit at the University. Centres hold workshops on résumés, cover letters, portfolios and interview preparation, and they have employment listings of local, national, and overseas postings. See for example Laurentian University.
